Generally, Sun in the first house signifies progress and good fortune. One has a tall height, pleasant eyes, a pronounced nose and a wide forehead. The person will be strong and healthy with a tendency of having gastric problems. One may suffer from a burning sensation in the stomach. Sun in the lagna brings ailments. Eye problems, headaches, gastric problems, blood infection, frequent urination and premature ejaculation may occur. One may travel abroad and lose money in business there. One's financial fortunes will fluctuate and one will at times be comfortable with money and at times face a shortage of money. The person may have a few children. Due to some extra-terrestrial influences, one may not have a son or a grandson. One may be weak and spoilt by the opposite sex. The person may work for lowly people. One does not stay at one place and is always wandering. One will be short tempered, callous, energetic and have a weak physique. One may have scanty hair. अशुभ फल : जिसके
जन्मलग्न में सूर्य हो वह जातक स्त्रियों से दूषित, दुष्टसंतानवाला, बाजार और वाटिका में टहलनेवाला और वेश्या में
आसक्त रहनेवाला होता है। कार्य करने में आलसी, क्रूर और क्षमा न करने वाला होता है। शरीर
वात-पित्त की व्याधि से पीडि़त होता है। अत: कृशकाय होगा। बाल अवस्था में रोगी
होता है। जातक की आँखों के विकार होते हैं। नेत्र रूखे होते हैं।
रवि लग्न में रोगी बनाता है, चक्षुरोगी, सिर दर्द, वायु विकार, रक्तविकार, गुल्मरोग, वस्ति संबंधित रोग, वीर्य क्षय एवं बहुमूत्रता जैसे रोग प्रदान
करता है। परदेश में जाता है और विदेश में व्यापार से धन की क्षति होती है। अस्थिर
सम्पत्ति वाला अर्थात धन का सुख कभी उत्तम रहता है और कभी धन का कष्ट भी बढ़कर
रहता है। रवि लग्न में हो तो संतति कम होती है। दैववशात् पुत्र और पोैत्र नहीं
होते । लग्नस्थित सूर्य का जातक अशक्त, स्त्रियों से दूषित होता है। नीच लोगों की नौकरी करता है।
जातक एक जगह घर बसाकर नहीं रहता है और हमेशा भटकता फिरता है।
सूर्य मकर राशि में होने से जातक को हृदय रोग
होता है। सूर्य का पापग्रह के साथ
सम्बन्ध होने से अथवा शत्रुक्षेत्री वा नीचेक्षत्री हाने से जातक को तीसरे वर्ष
ज्वरपीडा़ होती है। यदि इस सूर्य पर शुभग्रह की दृष्टि हो तो ज्वरपीड़ा नहीं होती।
उत्तरायण (मिथुन से धनु तक) का रवि-लड़ाई-झगड़े, अपना स्वत्व कायम करने की प्रवृत्ति आदि
स्वार्थता को बढ़ावा देता है।
